Doug Adams:
Engineer

Doug Adams is a resident and local Entrepreneur. He is the owner of a successful Sound & Lighting Production company, Pro Audio Systems Inc. He brings to Brick House Studios volumes of knowledge and experience.

In 1980, with an accumulation of sound gear through the years, he started his own sound business, Pro Audio Systems. Pro Audio Systems did sound for regional and national acts. He eventually shared a warehouse with colleague, John McBride of MD Systems. While MD Systems was out doing larger production and tours, Doug worked alongside John as systems tech, monitor tech, or Front of House engineer. Tours included Yngwie Malmsteem and Lita Ford & Black 'N Blue. Other clients Doug worked for through MD Systems are; Cheap Trick, Poison, Ray Charles, David Sanborn, and many more.

In his spare time, Doug put together a small recording studio and recorded many local artists from Rock to Gospel. At the time, Rich Mullins, gospel songwriter and performer, was living in the Wichita area and used Pro Audio Systems studio for some of his recording projects, as well as live audio production.

In 1982, Doug was hired by CBS recording artists, "The Clocks" and toured the country, first running monitors, then front of house engineer.

In 1987 and 1988, he continued to work in conjunction with John McBride of MD Systems, and build his sound business/studio. Doug was brought in to do some engineering and working in the live room at Big Dog Studio. (A relatively new studio in the Wichita area at that time.) He assisted with projects such as Joe King Carrasco, The Embarassment, and numerous others.

In 1989 he joined up with John Kay and Steppenwolf, touring with them, running monitors, doing FOH and stage manager. In 1995, Doug took part in, "John Kay and Steppenwolf's Live at 25" album, mixing the double live album. In addition, John Kay played live on the "Today Show" with Matt Lauer & Katie Couric where Doug produced the live mix on the air for millions and received credits for the mix on live TV. Doug worked for the John Kay & Steppenwolf organization for 19 years until they retired in 2007. During his touring career with the Wolf he has toured 27 countries around the globe.

Doug Adams of Pro Audio Systems, Inc. along with Brick House Studios will be around for many years to come, and he is very proud to be a part of this new project. He hopes you will come and let us be a part of yours.
